I will vote to preserve the Maple Ridge Golf Course. I will stand by that commitment in every council decision that affects its future.
My family has farmed in Maple Ridge for generations. My great-great-great grandfather, John Laity, served as mayor over a century ago. Maple Ridge’s noticeable decline is concerning.
I believe street disorder, out-of-control property taxes, and traffic congestion are among the biggest challenges facing Maple Ridge today. In addition, we are facing a major decision on the opaque recreation plan and the major financial risks that accompany it.
I have the ability to bring change. My education includes a BCIT Marketing Management Diploma, BCIT Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, UBC Post-Graduate Certificate in Property Valuation, and BCIT Carpentry Foundations Diploma. I spent seven years working in the oilsands and ten years working in real estate and construction.
A vote for me is a vote to freeze taxes.
