
Maple Ridge, B.C., April 10, 2026 - The City of Maple Ridge is pleased to announce Clay for You: Lineage/(계보), a spring exhibition at The ACT Art Gallery highlighting contemporary and traditional Korean ceramic practices.
Opening Saturday, April 11, the exhibition features the work by 13 members of the Maple Ridge-based Clay for You Korean Pottery Collective that demonstrate a lineage of Korean art traditions and contemporary innovations. Each artist has created striking sculptural and detailed works that celebrate the history of Korean ceramic traditions.
Visual characteristics of the displayed pottery include pale green celadon glaze, earthy buncheong ware (분청), intricate inlay, carving, and openwork surface techniques.
Exhibition Dates: Saturday, April 11 – Saturday, May 16, 2026
Regular Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00am to 4:00pm and selected evenings.
Location: The ACT Art Gallery (at The ACT Arts Centre), 11944 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, BC
The public is invited to attend a free opening reception on Saturday, April 11, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, to celebrate alongside the Clay for You artist members.
Founded by master potter Jung Hong Clay Kim (김정홍), Clay for You is an artist collective dedicated to the cultural heritage of Korean ceramics. The collective has gathered in their Maple Ridge studio for over ten years.
Clay for You: Lineage/(계보) also includes a collection of Master Kim’s ‘National Treasures’ – reproductions of historical Korean ceramic works from the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).

Clay for You Korean Pottery Collective: Tumbler Percent/(텀블러 퍼센트)
Also on display will be Tumbler Percent/(텀블러 퍼센트), a solo exhibit by Clay for You member Sylvia Kim. Presenting a collection of 100 ceramic tumblers, this body of work applies a range of traditional Korean ceramic carving techniques to the contemporary form of the cup. Each tumbler is a unique piece that demonstrates defining characteristics of Korean craft practices.
About the Artist Collective
The Clay for You collective is a group of Korean and Chinese artists committed to carrying forward the lessons learned from traditional master potter, Jung Hong Clay Kim (김정홍). Built upon a strong core of skilled artists, Clay for You is dedicated to educating the public about Korean history, culture, and craft while creating rewarding cultural explorations of traditional Korean pottery and art practices.
