Join us on Monday, October 20 at The Patch Brewery for Maple Ridge Innovates! as we announce the winners of the 2025 Innovation Challenge and kick off Small Business Week in Maple Ridge. Four local businesses will share in more than $17,000 in cash and in-kind prizes provided by our generous sponsors.

The new Maple Ridge Discovery Hub is a FREE resource for eligible businesses to promote themselves, their experiences, and their events to thousands of residents, visitors, and potential new customers each month.
Integrated throughout the City of Maple Ridge's website (and searchable at Discover.MapleRidge.ca), the Discovery Hub makes it easy for folks to find local events, experiences, and activities. With smart AI-powered search, filters, and multiple viewing formats, the Hub connects residents and visitors to everything that's happening in Maple Ridge - fast!

Home-based Business & Entrepreneur Pop-up

Curious about starting a home-based business? Have questions about the process or cost? Established and looking to grow?
The Economic Development office will be 'popping up' on Wednesday, October 22, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at ValleyFair Mall. We'll be available to answer your questions about starting, running, and growing your home-based business, including short-term rental accommodation and in-home childcare.

Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours
Join the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce for Business After Hours at Foamers' Folly Brewing Co., from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, co-hosted with the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Women in Business Facebook group.
Whether you're a business owner, entrepreneur, community supporter or just curious to connect, this event is for everyone. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and mingle with like-minded individuals, meet new faces, and build authentic connections. No speeches or agenda--just good people, good vibes, and a great local spot. Come as you are!

Virtual Workshop: Business Law for Small Businesses

Join us for this free Small Business Week virtual workshop that will explore key concepts of business law for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Topics covered during this 60-minute workshop will include business structure, contracts, intellectual property, risk management, and commercial real estate. Hear from Lyle Perry, Partner at Maple Ridge-based MHWP Law and have the opportunity to 'ask the expert' the questions keeping you up at night.
The session will be recorded and available for playback for those not able to attend.
Lunch & Learn: Making Film Work for Small Businesses

Join the City of Maple Ridge Film Office for a special Small Business Week lunch & learn at Chameleon Restaurant on Friday, October 24, from 12 noon to 2:00 PM.
This workshop will showcase the story of film in Maple Ridge, where we’ve come from, where we are today, and where we're going. The session is designed to break down barriers for small businesses potentially looking to connect with the film industry as a location or service provider. You'll get to hear from industry experts, local support resources, and fellow small businesses already featured on the big (and small) screen, and we'll have a lively, interactive workshop-style discussion to gather feedback and insights directly from participating businesses.
Your attendance and participation will help shape the future of film in Maple Ridge and help your business land a 'starring role' in a future film project!
Tickets: $20 per person (fees included, plus GST)

Celebrating Small Businesses in Downtown Maple Ridge
The DMRBIA will be highlighting member small businesses in various sectors, such as Retail, Service, Food & Beverage, et cetera on their social media channels.
Residents, visitors, and fellow business owners will be encouraged to support their favourite downtown Maple Ridge small businesses, snap a shot at their favourite spot(s), and tag @ShopMapleRidge for a chance to win Downtown Maple Ridge gift certificates.
Chamber Member Spotlights
Chamber members are invited to submit photos and stories that can be highlighted on the Chamber's social media platforms during Small Business Week through the Member Spotlight Series. Businesses must fill out a short form by Friday, October 10 at 5:00 PM to be considered.
