Heavy Rains and Strong Winds
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall advisory for parts of Metro Vancouver, including Maple Ridge, the first of fall weather advisories.
50–70 mm of rain, with strong and gusty southeasterly winds are expected overnight and Tuesday morning. Heavy rain may cause pooling on roads and low-lying areas, and could affect Tuesday’s commute.
What you can do:
- Allow extra time for travel
- Never drive through flooded roadways
- Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts
- Clear gutters and storm drains of leaves & debris
- Monitor Environment Canada alerts and local conditions at weather.gc.ca
