
Maple Ridge, B.C., May 12, 2026 – Lace up your runners and register now for Run the Ridge, Maple Ridge’s first-ever 10K trail running event, taking place Saturday, July 4, through the scenic Grant Hill trail network at Thornhill Trails (10390 256 St).
Runners of all levels aged 16 and over are invited to take on this exciting outdoor challenge and experience the natural beauty of Maple Ridge in a whole new way.
This unique race experience combines forest trails, rolling terrain, and breathtaking surroundings for an unforgettable morning on the trails. The event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will proceed rain or shine.
“Run the Ridge is a great way for residents and visitors to experience our incredible world class trail networks and stunning natural landscapes,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “Events like this help showcase what makes our community so unique while celebrating outdoor recreation and connection through sport.”
Participants will complete a 10-kilometre route through the Grant Hill trail network and receive a full race experience package, including:
- Shuttle transportation to and from Albion Community Centre
- Official chip timing provided by Trio Sport Events
- Race package
- Post-race photos
- Collectable finisher medal
Tickets are $75 plus tax per person and can be purchased online at MapleRidge.ca/RunTheRidge.
“We wanted to create an event that highlights Maple Ridge’s outstanding trail network while offering a rewarding experience for runners of all abilities,” said Tara Bardej, Manager of Recreation. “Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or trying your first 10K, Run the Ridge is designed to challenge and inspire participants while showcasing our beautiful parks and natural spaces.”
Race day packages will be available for pick up:
- Thursday, July 2 and Friday July 3 - 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Kintec (22336 Selkirk Ave)
- Thursday, July 2 and Friday July 3 - 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Maple Ridge Leisure Centre (11925 Haney Pl)
