Maple Ridge, B.C., Sept. 2, 2025 – A bold new brew is making its debut this weekend as part of the Our Neck of the Woods festival. The Our Neck of the Woods IPA—a limited-edition craft beer brewed exclusively for the event—is the result of a unique collaboration between three Maple Ridge breweries: Foamers’ Folly, The Patch Brewery, and Switchback Brewing.

Festivalgoers will be the first to enjoy the exclusive IPA on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Memorial Peace Park, where it will be served in the 19+ Outpost Social Corner and throughout the festival site.

“For the beer enthusiast, this is a thoughtful, boundary-pushing IPA. For the casual drinker, it’s approachable, refreshing, and undeniably local,” said Lyndsay Birch, head brewer at Foamer’s Folly. It’s the kind of pint best enjoyed with neighbours and friends amidst the echoes of live music.”

A Local Brew with Local Roots

Brewed at Foamer’s Folly with contributions from The Patch and Switchback, the IPA features a unique yeast strain called Thiol Libre—a nod to “The Beast,” the iron horse clock in downtown Maple Ridge. Hops were added directly to the mash (rather than the kettle), enhancing flavour extraction and showcasing innovation in the brewing process.

The recipe blends local Cascade hops with Citra, Mosaic and Sabro, delivering notes of citrus, stone fruit, and coconut. A grain bill of IPA malt, Canadian wheat, flaked oats, and dextrin lends the beer a smooth body and crisp finish.

Part of the “Choose Maple Ridge” Movement

The collaborative brew is part of the City’s Choose Maple Ridge initiative, which encourages residents and visitors to support local businesses, and for fellow business owners to support each other. Launched in April 2025, the campaign celebrates community connectedness, business resilience, entrepreneurship, and local pride—offering experiences like enjoying a beer brewed right in our own backyard.
