On June 14, 2024, the City of Maple Ridge received notice from the BC SPCA Maple Ridge that it will no longer provide animal control services effective immediately.
The City is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of animals and residents in Maple Ridge.
We are implementing interim measures to deliver animal control services while we explore options for a longer-term solution.
Residents are advised to contact the City about the following matters by calling 604-467-7305 or reporting online at mapleridge.ca/report
- responsible dog ownership education
- concerns such as barking dogs, dog bites and dog attacks
- assistance with stray animals
- removing dead animals from streets or public areas
- dog licensing
The BC SPCA will continue to support Maple Ridge residents by helping with lost pets, accepting surrendered animals by appointment, offering animal adoptions, providing emergency outreach support, and addressing concerns about animal abuse or cruelty.
To report animals in distress, please contact the BC SPCA Animal Hotline at 1-855-622-7722.
