The Land, The Water, The Sky
Singer-songwriter Katherine Paul is Black Belt Eagle Scout, known for their powerful indie rock infused with personal and poignant storytelling.
Based out of Portland, Oregon, Katherine’s pensive, guitar-focused dream pop evokes both the memories and melodies of her West Coast Swinomish and Iñupiaq heritage and the Seattle Sound alt-rock of the ’80s and ’90s.
Over three albums, Black Belt Eagle Scout, who self identifies as a radical Indigenous queer feminist, has established herself as an important name in the contemporary rock scene, with Rolling Stone dubbing her new LP, The Land, The Water, The Sky, a “tour de force.”
Inspired by the land, wisdom, knowledge, and traditions passed down by her ancestors, every they write is note is a love letter to Indigenous strength and healing.
"Black Belt Eagle Scout...song[s] evoke a sense of grander connection, but also hint at a deeper longing.” —Rolling Stone
