Maple Ridge, B.C., September 8, 2026 – Residents are invited to attend Lobby Nights happening on Tuesday evenings at 7:00p.m. for the duration of the 2026-2027 performance season at the Act Arts Centre. The free arts events begin Tuesday September 15 and will rotate through three themed experiences.
The community-focused event series transforms The ACT's lobby into a dynamic gathering space for residents to connect with the arts in an accessible way. Developed in response to community interests and feedback, Lobby Nights reflect The ACT's ongoing commitment to foster creativity, belonging, and cultural participation. The informal, free weekday programming provides flexible opportunities for residents to participate in creative experiences that fit into their daily lives.
The series features a rotating lineup of arts-based programming, including collaborative songwriting sessions with SongStage, literary gatherings hosted by the Golden Ears Writers, and Live @ The ACT, an open-stage program that spotlights local talent in an inclusive environment.

SongStage - Every second Tuesday of the month
With featured guest performances, an open mic for original material, and a relaxed café-style atmosphere, SongStage supports singers, musicians, and songwriters while fostering connections through music. Participants can gain performance experience, exchange ideas, and collaborate with fellow creators to strengthen their artistic practice.
Live @ The ACT - Every third Tuesday of the month
Live @ The ACT is a community open mic program that provides performers of all experience levels the opportunity to share their talents. Welcoming all kinds of artistic disciplines, including music, poetry, comedy, dance, acting, and spoken word, the series highlights the range and diversity of local talent. Register here.
Golden Ears Writers - Every fourth Tuesday of the month
Hosted in partnership with the Golden Ears Writers, this monthly gathering explores the craft of storytelling alongside a network of aspiring and established writers. Participants can share ideas, engage in thoughtful discussions, and receive constructive feedback from professional literary mentors.

Lobby Nights is delivered in partnership with Maple Ridge artists, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and community groups. Through these collaborations, The ACT continues to expand opportunities for residents to participate in arts and culture while supporting creative expression, skills development, and community connection.
