Live @ The ACT is an open mic night where local artists and performers of all levels can step into the spotlight and showcase their talent.

Join a vibrant mix of musicians, poets, comedians, dancers, and creatives! Whether you're testing out new material or performing your favourite routine, each act receives dedicated stage time to share their original work in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Grab the mic, engage the crowd, own the stage, and let your creativity shine.

Not a performer? Come out and show your support, and enjoy our community’s diverse talent. 

Live @ The ACT is a family friendly event, open to all ages. Please ensure that the content of your performance is appropriate for younger audiences. 

Be Part of the Act

Live @ The ACT will take place in the Lobby space of the ACT Arts Centre. Performances will begin at 7 pm and end at 9 pm. 

Admission is free for all to attend! Everyone is welcome to enjoy the show. If you wish to perform, you must pre-register prior to the event date.

Registering your spot in advance will guarantee your spot in the lineup and the order of performances will be determined prior to the event. Last-minute registrants may be granted if there is still space, on a first-come first-serve basis, but cannot be guaranteed.

All performers are required to arrive 30 mins early at 6:30 pm to check-in at the ACT lobby and confirm their set up requirements.

Each act is limited to a maximum of two pieces, or an equivalent of eight (8) minutes.

The stage will be on risers, dimensions: 12 ft. x 16 ft. and located in the ACT lobby. If you are performing as a group, please prepare your act to fit within the stage parameters. A maximum of eight people can be seated in chairs at a time. If your performance requires additional space, please identify these in your application so we can assess feasibility and discuss accommodations where possible.

Live @ The ACT welcomes all styles of performance art: poetry, comedy, music, dance.  We aim to give our arts community a space to practice their performing skills, connect and collaborate with others. We look forward to welcoming you to the stage and enjoying the local talent in our community - break a leg!
