Request to Have a Street Tree!

Help expand our urban tree canopy and create greener, healthier, and more livable neighbourhoods! Submit a request for the City to plant a street tree on your boulevard.
As part of implementing the action plan of the Urban Forest Management Plan the City of Maple Ridge successfully applied for and received funding for an ambitious tree planting project on municipal lands. This project involves planting 1,000 new trees in parks and on streets that were deemed high priority sites based on the City’s tree canopy coverage.

Description

The City’s Urban Forest Management Plan outlines measures to sustainably manage and expand Maple Ridge’s vital green spaces and tree canopy. The strategy represents the City’s commitment to protect and expand our urban tree canopy and details a 20-year action plan to achieve a target of 40% tree canopy coverage in urban areas.

Planting of the 1,000 trees will occur across 20 municipal parks with low canopy coverage and throughout residential streets mostly focused in west Maple Ridge.

This project is funded by a tree planting grant and by the City of Maple Ridge. We will communicate additional information regarding the grant once the funding organization has officially announced its recipients.
