The City of Maple Ridge has extended the deadline for businesses, organizations and service providers to respond to its Request for Information (RFI) supporting the City’s Emergency Operations Plan to Sept. 18.
The City is looking to identify local and regional suppliers that may be able to provide services and supplies on an as-and-when-requested basis during emergencies. Services would be coordinated through the City’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and may be needed in Maple Ridge or neighbouring communities, depending on the nature and location of an emergency.
This advance planning will help the City better support residents, evacuees and animals during emergencies such as floods, fires and earthquakes.

The City is interested in hearing from providers of:
- Facilities for emergency supply staging and distribution, evacuation reception centres or alternate EOC operations, including halls, arenas, conference centres, faith-based facilities, hotels and private facilities.
- Reception centre equipment, including tables, chairs and office equipment.
- Commercial accommodation for evacuees and displaced residents, including hotels, motels and extended-stay providers.
- Food and grocery services, including catering, prepared meals, grocery support and food distribution.
- Animal evacuation and support services for pets, hobby farms and livestock, including transportation, shelter, boarding, feeding, veterinary services, barns, kennels and feed suppliers.
- Transportation, including shuttle, accessible transportation and taxi services.
- Basic-needs supplies, including pharmacy services and vouchers for clothing and other essentials.
This RFI will help the City understand the range of services and capacity available before an emergency occurs. It is not a contract award or commitment to purchase services.

Suppliers now have until 2 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, to submit a response.
