Maple Ridge, B.C., May 2, 2025 – From May 4 to 10, 2025, communities across B.C and Canada. will mark Emergency Preparedness Week — a time to raise awareness and take action.

The City of Maple Ridge encourages all residents to be prepared and use this opportunity to understand the risks in the community, make an emergency plan, and gather supplies to keep you and your family safe.

This year’s theme, ‘In it together’, highlights that emergency preparedness is a shared responsibility — it’s about working with our families, neighbours, local organizations, and governments to respond and recover stronger, together.

Through the City’s Emergency Readiness Program, residents are encouraged to:

  • Know the Risks specific to Maple Ridge, including floods, wildfires, and earthquakes
  • Make a Plan so you and your loved ones know what to do in an emergency
  • Gather Supplies to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours

How you can take part:

  • Connect with your neighbours and identify anyone who might need extra support.
  • Take steps to prepare your household so you can assist others when needed.
