The City of Maple Ridge is planning to improve pedestrian and cycling facilities on 117 Avenue from 207 Street to Laity Street and Laity Street from 117 Avenue to Lougheed Highway by providing a 3.0m multi-use path (MUP). The MUP will create a safe and inviting pedestrian and cycling facility on 117 Avenue and Laity Street. The scope of work includes the design and construction of the asphalt MUP, streetlighting and curb extensions. The pathway is to be located on the south side of 117 Avenue and on the east side of Laity Street which will connect to the existing MUP on Lougheed Highway.
Aplin & Martin Consultants Ltd. has been awarded the contract for the detailed design and construction is anticipated to commence in summer 2020.
An Information Session will be scheduled for November 2019, which will be advertised on the City of Maple Ridge website and in the local newspaper. Conceptual design boards will be on display at the Information Session and the public will have an opportunity to provide input on the design.
