  3. Black Box Challenge at Haney Farmers Market ~ With Andrew Hinton of Roo's Roots

    August 19, 2017, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Memorial Peace Park

Join us to witness this true test of culinary skill! We will shop on the morning of the challenge for food sourced entirely from the market. We present Andrew with a "Black Box" full of things unknown to him in any way before the challenge. It's a mystery! He will have to come up with some tantalizing dishes which he then makes from these items, on the spot, using as much of the ingredients provided as he can. Attendees get to taste the results of his efforts and vote on whether he passes or fails with our applause! Will it be an awe-inspiring cooking event? Andrew says he's up for the challenge! This is a fun way to get ideas on cooking without a recipe, based on what you find in your fridge at home. After being inspired, shop our farmers stalls and try your own challenge at home! Paul Surridge performs for us today. Garibaldi Art Group joins us with their beautiful works for show and sale! The BIA is sharing the park with us for their monthly market.
