Our sincere thoughts and concerns are with everyone that has been impacted by this devastating fire, in particular those who have experienced loss and damage to their property. We can confirm there have been no reports of serious injuries to civilians or first responders.

Our heartfelt thanks to our partners and everyone that stepped up to help the City and those in need, including Fire Services from Pitt Meadows and Mission, Ridge Meadows RCMP, BCEHS, Translink for providing temporary shelter and support, our community partners from the Royal Canadian Legion and Canadian Red Cross and many caring volunteers. 

We can confirm that the fire started around midnight Friday and continued until 10 a.m. in the new development off of the 22500 block of Brown Avenue and the residential building located at 22562 121 Avenue. There has also been loss and damage to the adjoining buildings.

Emergency Support Services Available

The City’s Emergency Support Services team continues to help residents impacted by the fire to ensure their short-term needs for food and shelter are met.

Residents that have been displaced by the fire that have not yet done so, are advised to go to the Reception Centre located at the Greg Moore Youth Centre (11925 Haney Place) to register with Emergency Support Services.They will be open until 6:00 p.m.

Residents in the area may also continue to experience the residual smell of smoke. Anyone with respiratory issues are encouraged to find alternate accommodation or check in at the Reception Centre.

Donations

Thank you to all who have reached out to generously offer donations to help those displaced by the fire. Cash donations can be made to Salvation Army or Canadian Red Cross.

Road Closures

The following roads will remain closed until later today. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes so that first responders can continue to address the situation.

• Brown Ave between Edge and 227 St.

• 121 Ave between Edge and 227 St.

• Edge between 121 Ave and Brown Ave 

Fire Debris

If you find fallen debris on or near your property, it can be disposed of with your waste once it is cool to the touch.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work towards ensuring everyone impacted by the fire is safe and supported.
