The flow rates from the Alouette Lake Reservoir are rising and expected to be at the highest levels overnight and stay at this high level until Tuesday afternoon.
The City has developed the attached map that models potential flood impacts based on the water flow projections from BC Hydro. Properties that are shaded or in the cross hatched areas are the ones at risk. We encourage you to review the map and ensure that you have an emergency preparedness plan if you live in these areas.
The City is monitoring the entrances into Silver Valley and Silver Ridge at 224 Street and 232 Street and if the roadways are flooded overnight first responders will close the roads and residents in this neighbourhood will be asked to ‘shelter in place’ until the water recedes and residents can safely leave the area.
City crews will be working overnight to monitor conditions and new information will be published on the City website and on social media channels as it becomes available. The Operations Centre telephone line is being monitored overnight and if your property is impacted by rising waters you can call 604-463-9581 to report the conditions.
