ALT Fest: Cory Weeds Trio with Harold Mabern

Cory Weeds is becoming a favourite at The ACT Arts Centre with this making his fourth appearance here. Known from his Cellar Jazz Club days, he now programs Frankie’s Jazz Club. The Trio is joined by American great, jazz pianist and composer Harold Mabern. Harold has been described as one of the great post-bop pianists of this time and his playing as “crashing out chords that drop like pile drivers and warming up and down the keyboard with huge, whooping bursts of action”. PRE-SHOW Maya Rae 7:15 pm Come experience the vocal arrangements of Maya Rae as she moves your heart with her music, passion and soul. Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Friends in Need Food Bank.
