About The ACT Arts Centre

The ACT Arts Centre serves as a gathering place for artists and community, a place where creativity is celebrated and nurtured. This downtown centre unites the many diverse aspects of these communities; providing a home for the rich history of local art, a showcase for first class entertainment and a superb facility for business development.

Amenities

The main stage of The ACT Arts Centre is an intimate, 486-seat proscenium style theatre. A visit to the ACT, featuring a 40' x 80' sprung floor, extensive technical resources, including an impressive 39 line set fly tower, computerized lighting and extensive sound system is a rewarding experience for performers and audiences alike.

The ACT Arts Centre lobby is a bright, spacious area with a coat check and bar. This 3000 square foot space has an entire wall of two story windows and may be rented if not in use for a performance. The lobby hosts a variety of public and private events.

The Genstar Studio Theatre is a flat floor "black box" style measuring 2311 square feet. The number of seats varies depending on configuration and staging requirements. Dozens of flexible seating plans are available for up to 150 people. The beautiful sprung hardwood floor and extensive draperies make this elegant room an ideal location for smaller performances, banquets, weddings, post-show gatherings, music and dance classes or conventions.
