February 14
Council Workshop 11:00 am in Council Chambers
Council will get an update on the Yennadon Employment Lands file, including the history of the project, public consultation and the proposed next steps to designate these lands for future employment growth. Council will be briefed on the history of a tree cutting permit application.
Council Meeting 7:00 pm in Council Chambers
Presentations & Delegations: Curtis Pendleton, Executive Director of the ACT Arts Centre will provide Council with a presentation on what's happening at the facility. Ross Davies from the Kanaka Education & Environmental Partnership Society will provide an update on the 2022 activities of his organization. The final delegation is a visit from Kristi Maier representing the Chamber of Commerce to talk about their services, events and marketing plans for the upcoming year.

Council will also consider a recommendation for a Temporary Borrowing Bylaw update to remove the expiry date of loan authorization bylaws for Silver Valley Neighbourhood Gathering Places, Whonnock Lake Canoe & Kayak Facility Improvements, and Ice Sheet Addition.

On Tuesday council will be holding a daytime Workshop meeting and their evening Council meeting. Here are some highlights from the upcoming meeting agendas.
Workshop Meeting
Meeting starts at 11:00 am in Council Chambers
Council will receive a briefing on the independent Citizen Satisfaction Survey that was conducted in the fall of 2022. The report will provide comparisons of data collected in similar surveys in 2014 and 2020. This information is presented to provide citizen feedback and context information to assist Council as they establish their Strategic Plan for their four-year term.
Council Meeting
Meeting starts at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers
Council will welcome Rob Thiessen, who is managing the Emergency Weather Shelter in Maple Ridge for a presentation on the work they do in the community to support unsheltered citizens in extreme weather events.
Council is announcing the names of citizens who have volunteered to be members of various Council advisory committees to bring their expertise and passion to the City's work.
Council will consider Third Reading for developments at 20556 Dewdney Trunk Road, on St. Anne in the Port Haney neighbourhood, at 20383 Ospring Street and a rezoning to permit a group childcare centre at 20644 Dewdney Trunk Road.
Council will review and vote on four files brought forward from last week's committee of the Whole Meeting as well as a modification to their Council calendar for March.

Workshop Meeting

The Planning Department will bring Council up-to-date on the City's work since the adoption of the Housing Action Plan and work that has been completed and a review of upcoming work that is part of the 2023 work plan.

Council will be looking at three minor rezoning applications and a development variance permit request to increase the height of a fence east of the town centre.

Council will be getting public feedback on three applications:
- 22337 St. Anne Avenue. A rezoning application to allow the future construction of a five-storey apartment building with 20 residential units.
- 20644 Dewdney Trunk Road. An application to permit a Group Child Care Centre at the subject property.
- 20383 Ospring Street. An application to permit rezoning to allow a future two lot subdivision.

Committee Reports and Recommendations
Council will consider First Readings for the following rezoning applications from the January 10 Committee of the Whole meeting.
- Rezone 3 residential properties on Lougheed Highway at 221 Street for a six-story apartment building with 82 units, two levels of underground parking. Rezone the property on Lougheed Highway at 201 Street from the current commercial use to a combination of commercial and residential with buildings of up to six stories to better utilize the property.
- Recommendation for second and third reading for the City's Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw update that will be sent to the Ministry for Inspector of Municipalities review and approval.
