On an annual basis and in accordance with the Fees & Charges Bylaw, staff review the rental and admission rates of several Lower Mainland recreation facilities, including but not limited to Mission, Pitt Meadows, Langley, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam. The data gathered is used to determine current market rental and admission rates compared to operating costs to ensure we are in line with regional comparators.
Where the City of Maple Ridge was above market average, rates and memberships will stay the same. Where the City of Maple Ridge was below market average, modest fee increases will be introduced starting September 1 to assist in offsetting increasing operating costs.
Affordability and accessibility continue to be a top priority for our team. During the renovations that took place from 2017-2019, PRC did not to increase Rates & Memberships to help accommodate users who experienced service interruptions. In 2020, Council deferred the implementation of new fees during the introduction of the Fees & Charges Bylaw due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and potential financial impacts to residents.
While the upcoming changes to Rates & Memberships will see some increases, they are modest, will help support customer’s experience and will allow us to continue to run our facilities as operating costs rise.
No – there will be no increase to the 10 Pass and there will be a 5% reduction in 1 Year Memberships.

Please Note: *Rates do not include applicable tax with the exception of Hammond Outdoor Pool. Term memberships are not extendable except in extenuating circumstances.
If you visit the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, Albion Community Centre, Planet Ice and/or Hammond Outdoor Pool three times per week or more combined, we recommend a term membership (1 Month, 3 Month or 1 Year).
If you visit the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, Albion Community Centre, two times per week or less combined, we recommend a 10 Pass or 20 Pass.
If you visit the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, Albion Community Centre, Planet Ice and/or Hammond Outdoor Pool sporadically/infrequently, our Drop-In admission rates will work best for you.

No – if you currently have or decide to purchase a Term Membership or 10/20 Pass before September 1, 2022, your payment will stay as is until the end of your term/until you have used up your 10/20 Pass admissions.
We encourage you to renew your Term Memberships or to purchase a new 10/20 Pass prior to September 1, 2022 as all Memberships/Passes purchased on or after this date will reflect the new Rates & Memberships.
Our team has analyzed customer usage to determine peak hours at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre and adjusted our Hours of Operation accordingly. This helps to ensure we have additional support during those peak hours.
We are also happy to report that there will no longer be a closure of the aquatics facility from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. This will allow the community to maximize their time in the MRLC with the ability to use all amenities during our new Hours of Operation.

The ACC is a new facility which means our team is still learning to optimize programming. We will continue to increase/change the ACC’s hours over the first year of operation as we build capacity and respond to community needs.
