As of Saturday August 15, two groups can book into one Registered Public Swim timeslot. Hammond Outdoor Pool will be separated with a lane rope length wise in the middle of the pool allowing two separate groups to enjoy the pool at one time. Everyone will have access to both deep and shallow water.
Your safety is always our priority! This change complies with health authority recommendations regarding spacing and participant numbers needed to maintain physical distancing.
We have introduced new rules and procedures at Hammond Outdoor Pool that will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 that were created based on guiding documents from the Provincial Health Officer, Worksafe BC, the Lifesaving Society and the City of Maple Ridge. There are a number of amenities that patrons will not have access to/will have limited access to in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at Hammond Outdoor Pool.
We encourage everyone to come to the facility ready to participate in your scheduled activity. Wear your swimsuit underneath your clothes and shower at home before and after your swim to help limit the amount of patrons in the change areas. Please note the following:

Cleaning at Hammond Outdoor Pool has been increased with close attention being paid to all high touch areas after each swim as per recommendations from the health authorities.
Spectators will not be allowed within the facility during scheduled activities at Hammond Outdoor Pool.
Viewing is welcomed outside of the gated area but please practice physical distancing throughout the surrounding park area.
To ensure the safety of patrons, staff and our community registration for all activities at Hammond Outdoor Pool is currently mandatory. Registration allows us to track who is in our facility and to ensure maximum participation numbers are monitored. Controlling the access to a building/facility is a recommendation of the Provincial Health Officer and Worksafe BC to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Face masks should not be worn in the pool; however, the choice to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in other areas of the facility is up to the discretion of the individual. Wearing PPE is not mandatory in public places at this time.
Yes, you can cancel your registration for a drop-in activity at Hammond Outdoor Pool. To avoid losing your deposit, cancellations can be done through email (registration@mapleridge.ca) or phone (604-467-7422) prior to your scheduled timeslot.
Customers should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to their registered activity at Hammond Outdoor Pool. Please wait on the designated physical distancing markers outside of the main entrance. A lifeguard will welcome you into the facility at your designated time.
Back-to-back timeslot registration is not permitted for Hammond Outdoor Pool to give everyone equal opportunity to visit. Thank you for your understanding.
The City will support Public Health in communication during community transmission occurrences.
At this time, you cannot use your existing membership to pay for registered activities at Hammond Outdoor Pool. We are accepting card payments over the phone (604-467-7422) and via online registration.
We are not accepting cash or card on site at Hammond Outdoor Pool. If you are unable to pay by card by phone or online, please contact our Customer Experience team at 604-467-7422 and they will be happy to discuss alternative payment options.
