Controlling the access to a building/facility is a recommendation of the Provincial Health Officer and Worksafe BC.
New practices and procedures were created to ensure the safety of our patrons, community and staff. Some of the measures include:

Fitness classes will take place in Multi Use #1 or in Multi Use #5 in the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre
Participants should arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to their registered fitness class. Please wait outside of the space until a Fitness Instructor welcomes you.
Participants of the group fitness classes will not be able to access the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre at this time.
Wearing PPE is not required when attending a group fitness class. The choice of wearing PPE is up to the discretion of the individual.
Facemasks and/or gloves can be worn to help protect you and those around you - you can learn more on the BC Centre for Disease Control website.
If you notice another patron who is not following physical distancing rules or who may be displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please notify your Fitness Instructor.
If a patron is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, PRC staff will ask that they do not attend the Fitness Class and self-isolate for the recommended 14 days. A note will be made on the users account and they will be unable to register for any Fitness Centre timeslots until their self-isolation is over.
All programs are by registration only. Should a patron or a participant leave a program due to illness, staff will make a note on their file and remove their registration access to any programs for the recommended 14 days.
At the time of registration, patrons are aware and have acknowledged that at the time of participation they are symptom free.
Before participating in any PRC program we ask that all participants perform a self-assessment. At this time they will answer a series of questions. Do I have a fever? Do I have a cough? Have I been exposed to COVID-19? Etc. If a patron answers yes to any of these questions they will be required to leave the area.
The City will support Public Health in communicating community transmission occurrences.
