A Connected Community
Come out and get to know your neighbours this summer!
Creating connected and vibrant neighbourhoods is a key priority for the City. One of the best ways for us to be engaged and healthy is to get together to celebrate our community and meet our neighbours. These connections help promote neighbourhood safety, build a sense of community and belonging and are a ton of fun.
The City is presenting a series of events under the umbrella called Hi Neighbour.
Whether it's at one of the new Rock the Block events, the Hot Summer Night gatherings hosted by the Maple Ridge Fire Department, Movies in the Park or the many concerts and community celebrations this summer, the summer of 2024 is packed with free family friendly events to help you connect with your community.
Hot Summer Nights
The City of Maple Ridge Fire Department crews will roll into neighbourhood parks this summer to help residents beat the heat and learn about fire and emergency safety. A ladder truck and an engine are set up to spray water. These free, family-friendly events offer residents an opportunity to meet their local firefighters, explore fire trucks, participate in interactive safety demonstrations, and learn about emergency preparedness.

Rock the Block
Rock the Block is a series of gatherings encouraging residents to connect and socialize in their neighbourhood! The events are free and feature music, games and creative expression.
In 2024, the City has chosen the neighbourhoods of Albion, Hammond and Silver Valley as locations for these celebrations. Thank you to all participants of this year's Rock the Block series.
Residents can share their feedback and request locations for next year's Rock the Block series by emailing Culture@MapleRidge.ca.
