The 29th Annual Ridge Meadows Rivers Day event invites the public to join in celebrating BC and World Rivers Day along the South Alouette River. The event brings together community, raises awareness of the importance of our rivers, and the vitality our natural spaces provide us in creating physical, mental and emotional balance in our lives. We hope the event will foster a sense of health, wellness and social connections amongst the event participants.

Hosted by the Alouette River Management Society, Ridge Meadows Rivers Day celebrates BC Rivers Day and World Rivers Day which is held on the 4th Sunday in September every year. Traditionally the event is hosted at the ALLCO Fish Hatchery but due to continuing COVID-19 sensitivities and BC Corrections, this year the event will be a family-friendly day in ALLCO Park. Unfortunately that means there will be no trout fishing but we will not disappoint. This year’s event promises to be filled with lots of fun and interactive environmental displays, live music, face painting, carnival games and live northern spotted owls on site! Ridge Meadows Rivers Day provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Alouette Watershed and its importance within the community. It’s also an excellent way for environmentally-minded organizations to promote themselves while supporting a great cause. We hope to see you there as we celebrate rivers and the many benefits they bring us.
