29th Annual Ridge Meadows Rivers Day
Sunday, September 25, 2022
The 29th Annual Ridge Meadows Rivers Day event invites the public to join in celebrating BC and World Rivers Day along the South Alouette River. The event brings together community, raises awareness of the importance of our rivers, and the vitality our natural spaces provide us in creating physical, mental and emotional balance in our lives. We hope the event will foster a sense of health, wellness and social connections amongst the event participants.
The event will offer a range of family-friendly activities including environmental-themed displays from WildSafe BC, Maple Ridge Adopt-a-Block, and the Ridge Meadows Recycling Society along with others. Build a birdhouse, learn about aquatic invertebrates, try some worm composting, dance along with music from local entertainers, hear salmon stories, try their hand at honey extractions (pending availability), see adult salmon return, try their luck with carnival games and more. Activities are free to low-cost to participate. More details closer to the event date.
Please note there will not be kids trout fishing as in previous years as this year's event is being held in ALLCO Park not at the hatchery. We hope to return to the hatchery in 2023.
