Elder Abuse Prevention & Personal Safety for Seniors

Elder Abuse can take many forms including neglect, physical, psychological or financial abuse, violation of rights, and abandonment. The Ridge Meadows RCMP Crime Prevention Unit presents this informative session to help you: -learn to recognize the warning signs and risk factors of senior abuse. - understand the role ageism plays in abuse. - recognize the impact of abusive behaviour. - know who to refer to, and where to find help. - prevent elder abuse from occurring. Officers will also discuss personal safety and what you can do to help protect yourself from becoming a victim of crime. Presented by the Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Katzie, Seniors Network’s Community Response Network, and the Maple Ridge Public Library.
