Get ready for the festive season!
Maple Ridge is getting ready to officially kick off the holidays with festive fun for all, including holiday lights and décor, a self-guided tour, the 20th annual Santa Claus Parade and more.
The fun begins on Saturday, December 2, 2023 with the launch of the Candy Cane Self-Guided Tour as part of this year’s Illuminate Maple Ridge event along with the return of the much-loved Winter Fest celebration in downtown Maple Ridge from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Bundle up and head to downtown Maple Ridge on December 2 for the free, family-friendly Winter Fest!
Here are the activities you can enjoy:
- Christmas in the Park
- Time: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM,
- Location: Memorial Peace Park
- Featuring a tree lighting, family activities, music, photos with Santa and the Grinch and more. Donations accepted for Friends in Need Food Bank and Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society.
- Christmas Market
- Time: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Location: Memorial Peace Park
- Expect local products, crafts and sweet treats.
- To Gather Together
- Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- Location: The ACT Art Gallery
- Enjoy a mixed media exhibit featuring 65 artists.
- Holiday Crafts
- Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
- Location: The ACT Arts Centre
- Participate in winter-themed crafts and activities.
- Santa Claus Parade
- Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
- Location: Downtown Maple Ridge
- The 20th annual parade with lights, decorations, Christmas cheer and a special guest. Bring a lawn chair and bundle up.
ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE | December 2 | 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM:
🛑PARADE ROAD CLOSURE:
• Starting at 224 Street at Brown Avenue, heading west to Plaza Street.
• South to Dewdney Trunk Road, (where the parade will begin) heading east to 224 Street.
• South on 224 Street, around Memorial Peace Park at Haney Place.
• West onto Selkirk Avenue, concluding at 223 Street.
Please follow all road signage around this closure, and please note that the closure encompasses the parade, with detours available at 222 Street, Lougheed Highway and on 224 Street from Edge Street. Illuminate | November 24 - January 5
Illuminate Maple Ridge represents an evolved iteration of our community holiday experience. Illuminate fosters engagement with all the wonderful local businesses and inspires both visitors and residents to explore the abundant offerings of Maple Ridge. At the heart of downtown and for the first time ever, Illuminate will transform the six-storey City Hall office tower with string lights, floodlights, and vibrant colour displays.
- The Candy Cane Tour | December 2 - January 5
- Visit local businesses taking part in Illuminate Maple Ridge. Recognizable by the Illuminate Maple Ridge decal displayed in their storefront window, these businesses promise to be festively adorned, creating a captivating ambiance for all to enjoy.
- The Illuminate Photo Contest | December 2 - January 5
- Come to downtown Maple Ridge and enjoy the spirit of the holidays with participating businesses on the Candy Cane Tour all decked for the season. Shop local and take part in our photo contest with a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

The Nutcracker - Ballet Victoria | December 9 & 10 | 3:00 PM
Be transported at any age by this beloved Christmas tradition. A timeless musical score, beautifully imagined and executed choreography, brilliantly costumed dancers, and imaginative staging with humour make this an annual family holiday classic.

CPKC Holiday Train | December 17 | 7:00 PM
Head to the Port Haney West Coast Express Station on December 17 at 7:00 PM to await the arrival of the CPKC Holiday Train at 7:50 PM.
Enjoy FREE performances by Tyler Shaw and Kiesza until 8:30 PM.

🛑ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE | There will be a full road closure on December 17 from 5 to 10:00 PM on River Road between 223 Street and the Haney Bypass for the CPKC Holiday Train.
Please follow posted signage. If you're joining us, please head to the Port Haney West Coast Express Station at 7:00 PM for the arrival of the Holiday Train at approximately 7:50 PM. 10th Annual Tree of Memories | December 5 - January 5
Residents are invited to the Maple Ridge Cemetery to hang a holiday decoration in memory of a loved one. Photos, messages or a simple ornament may be hung on the tree with care.
