Ways to Prepay Utilities

  • UPAWS - Utility Pre-Authorized Withdrawal program (we set up) 
  • Online banking payments (you set up)


UPAWS Program

  • Automatically withdraws from your bank account 
  • One withdrawal of the balance owing on the due date 
  • No late penalties or last-minute rush to pay
  • Bill will continue to be mailed every quarter
  • Program will automatically continue until cancellation is requested in writing
  • Owners selling their homes and enrolled in UPAWS are responsible for cancelling their plan
  • Payments not honoured by the applicant's financial institution are subject to late penalty and a $25.00 Service Charge
  • The City may cancel the UPAWS agreement if three consecutive withdrawals are not honoured by the applicant's financial institution

Sign Up for UPAWS

  • UPAWS Application & include void cheque or Pre-Authorized Debit Form from your bank
  • Applications must be received at least 15 business days prior to the next withdrawal date

Cancel / Change Your UPAWS

  • UPAWS - Changes or Cancellation Form & include new banking information if applicable
  • Cancel or change requests must be received at least 15 business days prior to the next withdrawal date
  • If you are selling your property and it is past 15 business days for the withdrawal date you need cancelled, call immediately (604-467-7316)

    Note: When you send an email to this address, you will receive an automatic reply email. We will also send another email to confirm we received the request. If you do not hear back from us after a couple business days or if it's near a cutoff date, please call (604-467-7316) or email again to confirm that we have received your request and that it will be processed.

Online Banking Prepayments

  • Good for those who wish to pay on a more regular basis instead of quarterly (example: once a month)
  • Set it up as a recurring bill payment OR make multiple one-time payments throughout the year
  • Each payment made will be itemized on your utility bill and automatically deducted from your total amount due
  • If there is an outstanding balance left on your quarterly bill, you are responsible to pay on or before the due date to avoid penalty
