Dewdney Trunk Rd and 227 St Watermain Replacements

The City is planning to replace the watermain on Dewdney Trunk Road (DTR) from Edge Street to 228 Street and on 227 Street from DTR to 121 Avenue. The work generally consists of installation of approximately 310m of 300mm Ductile Iron (DI) watermain on DTR and replacement of 235m of 250mm DI watermain on 227 Street north of DTR, tie-in of existing service connections, installation of new fire hydrants, installation of fibre optic ducting on the existing watermain and surface restorations.

An Open House was held on May 16, 2019. View the Display Board and Drawing.

The project tender closed on June 20 and the contract was awarded to Pedre Contractors Ltd.  The installation of the watermain has now been completed. The City's waterworks crew perform the watermain tie-ins and transfer all the service connections once the chlorination and pressure tests are performed. City staff will be contacting property/business owners directly impacted by the project for water service transfers in the next few weeks. The pavement restorations will commence shortly after the transfers and is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.

Please plan for detours and thank you in advance for your patience during construction. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact the City of Maple Ridge Project Manager, Maria Guerra, at 604-467-7356.
