The Artist in Residence Program in Maple Ridge provides professional Canadian artists and artistic teams in all disciplines of visual, performance, media, culinary, literary and other cultural art expressions from any part of British Columbia or Canada with access to a live-work studio and house or work only studio residency over a period of one to three years. Artist(s) provide a minimum number of arts/culture community based engagement hours on approved projects/activities related to themes/topics identified in the City’s strategic plans which are developed in collaboration between staff, artist(s) and community members/partners. There is currently one residency available:
Work only studio at the Greg Moore Youth Centre for a 1 year term 2019-2020 with the option to renew for one additional year based on successful review.
Details are available in the Guidelines and Expressions of Interest Application below. Proposed initiatives are not pre-determined and can be focused on one or more themed areas. Artists with experience working with children and youth and diverse communities and have an inclusive arts and community practice are especially encouraged to apply.
