Visit the market you know and love at its fall location: Grow and Gather Nursery! Shop for early Christmas gifts, farm fresh food, snacks, crafts, and more! Our annual Toy Drive for the Christmas Hamper Fund begins today and continues through next Saturday at the market. We will be collecting toys and gifts for children of all ages so don't forget that opting for a gift card for the teenagers is also very much needed and appreciated! Be creative. Skip the stuffies, which seem to multiply all on their own, and try for something unusual! Books, games, money, and toys are fantastic! Also, in the spirit of giving, it's that time of year when it's getting a little colder and the shelters rely on the community for food & clothing donations. MacDonald Realty would like to collect any non-perishable food items and warm clothing (blankets, jackets, socks) for those in need at their booth.

Contemporary First Nations artists, Sonny Assu, Corey Moraes, Carrielynn Victor, and Brandon Gabriel all feature an intriguing blend of traditional and contemporary storytelling in their artwork. In bridging modern attitudes with ancestral beliefs, their stories ensure that a provocative First Nations perspective is given voice within the myriad of Canada 150 celebrations taking place in 2017. Ensuring that ‘truth’ is recognized as the prelude to reconciliation, these artists render comic-book characters, super heroes, mythical beings and graffiti-inspired narratives as a critical and often humourous means of sharing both their personal and ancestral Modern Legends. Ballet Kelowna presents four recently premiered works from celebrated Canadian choreographers Donald Sales, Gioconda Barbuto, Matjash Mrozewski, and Simone Orlando which reflect the striking beauty, rich history and diverse culture of our vast country, including music from Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. The program finale includes a vibrant new ensemble work, co-created by award winning choreographers, and former Ballet BC Principal Dancers, Orlando and Sales, set to jazz legend Oscar Peterson’s monumental Canadiana Suite.
