For more information contact: Kelly Swift at 604-467-7337 or kswift@mapleridge.ca
A plan has been prepared to set the direction for Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services over the next ten to fifteen years in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. The plan has been prepared by Catherine Berris Associates Inc. and Asbell Management Innovations and is based on extensive public input received over the past year and a review of standards from across North America. It contains recommendations in a variety of service areas including: Parks and Open Space, Outdoor Recreation Facilities, Indoor Recreation Facilities, Recreation Services for groups like Seniors, Children and Youth and Arts, Culture and Heritage. It also addresses how services should be delivered as our two communities grow, including such topics as partnering with agencies like School District No. 42, community development, support to community organizations, neighborhood development, communications, etc.
