The District of Maple Ridge, Heritage Awards program recognizes significant contributions to heritage conservation in the municipality. The program is coordinated by the Community Heritage Commission and awards are presented during Heritage Week which is the third week in February.
The Community Heritage Commission is looking for nominations for the 2011 Maple Ridge Heritage Awards. The deadline for nominations is October 15, 2010 at 4:00pm. Nomination forms are available at Municipal Hall, Reception or you can download from the website.
2010 Winners
- Heritage Building Conservation: Mike & Carolyn Holt
- History & Heritage Research & Publication: The Times & The News
- Sheila Nickols Award for Community History & Heritage Teaching: Val Patenaude
- Heritage Landscape Conservation: Sue Schulze, Trudi DesRochers, Steve Bentley and Reginald Friesen
This year's Heritage Awards were presented on February 18, 2010 at the St. Andrews Heritage Church Hall. This year, the winners of the Heritage Building Conservation Award received a plaque to mount on th exterior of their home.
