Responsible for Parks and Cemetery Operations, Parks Planning and Development, as well as the Facilities Department, working with Managers and other staff members to provide well designed and maintained parks and recreational facilities, for the residents of both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. Directs the work of employees and contractors engaged in parks and cemetery design, maintenance, repair and construction; and, the development and maintenance of life cycle programs, preventative maintenance programs for parks, recreation facilities and government properties. The work also involves preparing department business plans and operating and capital budgets; maintaining control of expenditures; representing the department and liaising with various internal and external contacts; completing research and preparing policy recommendations for consideration by the Parks and Leisure Services Commission and Councils.
