The District of Maple Ridge procures numerous types of goods and services. Examples of purchased goods and services include, but are not limited to: vehicles, heavy duty equipment, parts, pipe, road installation, water and sewer services, computer equipment, office products and machines, office furniture, consulting services, building and grounds maintenance services, communications, safety supplies, fire fighting apparatus and equipment, first aid supplies, drafting supplies, printing services, signage, and janitorial services and supplies.
How to Become a Supplier or Service Provider
The Purchasing section requests that suppliers contact them in writing or by email at procurement@mapleridge.ca to make them aware of their company, and what products or services they have to offer the District. Please include the following info when contacting the Purchasing section:
- company name and contact person
- address, phone number, email address, and facsimile number
- a brief description of the products or services available
- length of time in business
Any other information about the business the supplier wishes to include such as:
- product brochure and catalogues
- references
Once this information is received, Purchasing may file it in their library of commodities for future reference or pass on information to other departments who may be interested in the new company, products, or services.
topRequirements for Contractors Working on Municipal Properties
A valid business licence is mandatory for a contractor or service company conducting business on Municipal properties.
Proof of the following may also be required:
- an active Worker's Compensation Number or a clearance letter from the Worker's Compensation Board
- minimum $5,000,000 liability insurance, with the Corporation of the District of Maple Ridge named as additional insured
- employee criminal checks where necessary
- Federal, Provincial or Municipal permits when and where applicable.
