This session had subject experts who discussed the topic of homelessness with an emphasis on the causes and issues that contribute to homelessness. Speakers addressed the unique experiences of youth and seniors and provided current and accurate information in a general terms. Panel members included:

There were 197 people in the audience including Mayor Ted Schaefer from Langley and Councillors Michael Stark and Bruce Bell from the City of Pitt Meadows. The live stream was viewed by 136 people during the event and an additional 144 individuals have viewed the online recording since the event. Session 2: Jurisdictional Matters: Challenges and Opportunities

This session focused on the moral and legal responsibilities of government to assist in finding solutions for this difficult social issue. The session examined the constant struggle to balance individual liberty and the collective responsibility for shelter and housing services.

There were 147 people in the audience (not including panel members and support staff and 100 people watched the live stream during the event. November 3, 2016 - Session 3: Understanding Mental Health & Addictions

Homelessness is made more complex by mental health and addiction issues. This session will explore how these issues are related and reveal evidence-based and promising practices in the field of mental health and addictions.
