Backyard Burning Permits - available Monday, October 2

Backyard Burning Permits will be available starting on Monday, October 2, 2017.

The City of Maple Ridge allows residents in the "Open to Burning" area of Maple Ridge to purchase a permit in order to have an outdoor fire during daylight hours so "garden refuse such as leaves and small branches indigenous to the property are deliberately burned for the purpose of disposal".

The permits are valid from October 15 until November 15, 2017.

Are you in the area that is allowed to burn? Please check the map before starting any fires.

Fire Chief Howard Exner reminds all residents in the “open to burning” area that the Maple Ridge Outdoor Burning Regulation Bylaw 5535-1997 must be followed.

Please note:

•The urban areas of Maple Ridge are completely closed to any type of burning.
•At any time, the Fire Department may revoke your permit and/or issue a fine if you break the Bylaw.
•Permits are $25.00 and available from Hall #1 (Cash only) or the City of Maple Ridge Tax Department from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
