Mayor and Council invite citizens of Maple Ridge to comment on the five year operating and capital budgets for the City as part of the budget consultation process. These budgets are developed based on budget guidelines developed in the spring and presented in a public meeting in December. The Property Tax Rates Bylaw must be adopted prior to May 15 each year.

Background
On Thursday, December 3, 2015, there was a live business planning question and answer session in the Council Chambers. This meeting was open to the public and was live-streamed. Throughout the presentation and until 7:30 pm, staff took your questions via email, Facebook, Twitter, phone (604-467-7484) and in person, and they were also be answered by staff following the presentation (#BudgetMR). All of the questions and answers were posted by the end of the day on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. On Tuesday, January 26, 2016 Mayor and Council gave final reading to the Financial Plan.

Any Time Input
We invite citizens and stakeholders each year to provide comments on the Financial Plan. The first opportunity comes in the spring, when Council adopts guidelines that will direct staff in the preparation of the Financial Plan. The second opportunity is in November/December, when Council formally considers the proposed Financial Plan. In addition, your comments and questions are welcome any time of year.
