The City is planning to replace the watermain on 232 Street from 122 Avenue to 124 Avenue. The work generally consists of 445m of 200mm diameter ductile iron watermain installation, tie-in of existing service connections, installation of three new fire hydrants, installation of fibre optic ducting and surface restorations. Conwest Contracting Ltd. has been awarded the contract and construction is anticipated to commence mid-February and is anticipated to be completed in eight weeks, weather permitting.
The watermain alignment will be in the road centreline from 122 Avenue then shifting to the south side the road as it gets closer to Abernethy Way. 232 Street will maintain single lane alternating traffic in each direction between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays during construction. On-street parking near the work area will not be permitted during construction. Temporary “No Parking” signs will be placed where required prior to any work. Two travel lanes on each direction will be reinstated after working hours.
Please plan for your detours and thank you in advance for your patience during the construction. Should you have any questions regarding this project, you may contact the City of Maple Ridge Project Manager, Maria Guerra, at 604-467-7356.
