Pitt Meadows Airport (YPK) is your gateway to the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions. As a regional airport, we provide service to recreational, charter and scheduled flights.
YPK is owned and operated by the Pitt Meadows Airport Society (PMAS), a joint venture between the cities of Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. PMAS operates as a not-for-profit organization and reinvests all earnings back into YPK in order to improve the airport for the community. Recent improvements at the airport include the construction of a new Nav Canada Control Tower, an extension of Airport Way and an expanded parking lot. The airport has also begun a comprehensive safety upgrade and runway enhancement project with new cabling and runway lighting, including precision approach instruments for landing, a new lighting control panel in the Control Tower, a 300 foot extension to the primary runway, and the addition of Runway End Safety Areas (RESAs) to the primary runway.
YPK is a major economic driver for both Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. A recent economic impact study showed that the direct impact of the ongoing operations at YPK generates 340 direct jobs with an average salary of $54,000, creates $15 million in household income, and contributes $24 million to Canada's GDP.
