Heritage Projects

There are a number of recently completed initiatives related to heritage conservation in Maple Ridge:

Heritage Plan Review & Update

The Community Heritage Commission is reviewing and updating the current Heritage Plan. To continue to conserve our community’s  heritage as effectively as possible, a review of the City’s heritage initiatives needs to be reviewed, refocused, and reprioritized.

Incentives Review Project
The City of Maple Ridge and the Maple Ridge Community Heritage Commission are exploring opportunities for realistic and effective heritage incentives.

Heritage Plaque Program
The Heritage Plaque Program was launched in 1992 in order to help build public understanding of the value of our built heritage and to create a climate of support for the preservation of valuable older buildings.

Hammond Heritage Character Area
This process has finished. It was a community engagement process to explore potential legislative and regulatory tools for conserving the heritage character in Hammond.
